Ballin on a budget: Date night or host night

This weekend my boyfriend and I are dog sitting Hank

in Weehawken, NJ. 

My goal for our date night was dinner and wine for 2 @ $40.00. 

= Mango Salsa (the topping to balsamic vinegarette chicken)

Mozzarella, Goat, and Gorgonzola cheese + Pinot Grigio

and a happy babe...

We balled on a $40 budget and there is wine left for a movie, salsa + cheese to be continued through the weekend. Enjoy this cheap thrill any night of your summer...

Sometimes I can relate to the expression "bad luck is better than no luck" because of my true tendency to experience inconvenient luck. Trust that this is no exaggeration, and too often I feel like there is a law or theory ruling my life: for every advantage, there is an equal or greater disadvantage.  

For example, I have finally grown to accept a few facial scars from "the great fall" when out of nowhere a new scar appears to join my growing collection. 

This morning as I began to wallow in my own self-pity (due to the glances encountered on my train ride to work) I received an email from my friend Lindsey. She attached the article of Matt's story and I soon realized how pathetic and insignificant my scars are in comparison. I felt inclined to share his inspirational story below:
